Sunshine Like....
Coloured denims are everywhere...and it’s no more a new rage to talk about now. Everyone just loves them and wants to buy more and more of them. I now own two of them and am still looking out for other colours in the right fit. Exams are approaching so I am locked in my room the whole day studying. June will be a month for a good outing and shopping for me. Yay.
Took some time out last weekend to go out shopping, that’s when I met with Sun..Sunshine... I had picked this pair of yellow pants some time back, which also added to the summery weather outside making it a great outfit for a summer's day out. Paired it with a white top and some basic accessories and here I was ready to rock the sunshine J .

Desi Girl.....
I have been attending a few weddings this summer. First my BFF got married and now it was one of my cousins getting married.
One was a love cum arranged marriage and other was a love marriage.... In one marriage both the boy and the girl were waiting to meet Mr. Right and Ms. Right for a long time, whereas in the other marriage Mr. Right and Ms. Right were in love since long long time but were waiting for family approvals. Whatever their stories are, the fact is that today they are married (happily married) to the person of their choice.
I strongly believe in destiny, no matter what there is one person for everyone, whom you meet and share your life together with.  Like the way I met my husband almost 11 years ago and it still feels like yesterday. No matter how much time I spend with him it always seems little. Things change a little over a period of time with transition from being college student’s to working professional and then to being married and staying together. But it’s been a wonderful journey with so many great experiences, moments shared and ups and downs...we have stayed together (touchwood J)
I am not trying to be a marriage/relationship counsellor or something of that sort but just sharing my experience on relationships...
Some things which I would like to share are:
·         Always say “I Love You”(mean it too)
·         Give selflessly without expecting
·         Give and have your own space...
·         Don’t forget that you are friends
Now coming to today’s post I bought this saree to wear for this wedding. Since the colour was so fresh and the blouse was in a contrast colour I decided to keep it simple yet glamorous with the jewellery and the makeup.
The design of the blouse was an inspiration from what Aishwarya Rai and Vidya Balan have been wearing lately. My tailor did a good job of making a perfect blouse to which I added a leaf shaped motif at the back of the blouse.

By the SEA....

"When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused."- Rainer Maria Rilke

Hello!!! I am writing after a long long time, seems like ages. Work and so many other activities on hand have been keeping me busy. Couldn’t even do an outfit post.
Today’s post is really very special. It is about the place where I belong, where I spent my childhood vacations, connected with relatives-uncles, aunts, cousins, community. It’s about my native...I belong to the costal part of  Maharashtra …Kokan, where we have pristine beaches, seafood, the king of fruits Mango, cashew, coconut...and all the best things in life which anyone could ask for.
We went for a short visit to our native last week for an annual event. This trip not only proved to be refreshing but also served as the much needed break.
I just love the sea and this time since we were a large group we opted to stay at a resort closer to our family home and the beach. What more can I say about all of it....the amazing pictures below will do all the talking...

"At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun."- Anonymous

"For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea."
- e.e. cummings

Who does not love the sea? The beach is a place of healing and joy. The salt cleanses us and the sun embraces us in its warmth. The ocean heals the heart, mind, and soul.

Just the basics....

This Sunday was special for us...the day which we were looking forward to....But no matter what your frame of mind is, the outside temperature does affect you...I mean the heat is so much...it’s better to be indoors....

During such time I prefer wearing something basic and comfortable....So I just put on my cotton shirt paired with basic black denim, accessorized the outfit with some colourful and metal bangles...borrowed my husband’s chain...(from his Goa Junk Jewellery collection).

You would be wondering why Priyanka is not posting anything. Her final exams and viva's are keeping her very busy these days...I am sure you will get to see more of her after April....

Shirt- Mango
Denim- Lifestyle
Bag- Rhysetta

BFF's Wedding

This was the only wedding which we all friends were waiting for...One of my very closest BFF got married. This was a special one for us since it was going to be the last bachelorette party, last mahendi, last sangeet and the wedding too for us to enjoy...

After having a great bachelorette party we were all looking ahead for the wedding day...

Here is what I wore for the Wedding in the morning...I instantly liked this dress and picked it up..The colour complemented my skin tone and it just looked perfect. In fact I received a few compliments for the dress...

For the evening reception I was joined by Priyanka and my Hubby...We all girls planned to wear a saree...I usually prefer light pastel shades which really look good in evenings with all those lights around.

Me and Priyanka...

Along with Hubby...

And finally my BFF...The most gorgeous bride :)

It was a great day and a new start for my BFF...Now we all sail in the same boat (married)  ;)

Denim Fun.....

I wore this denim dress during my recent trip to Phuket (Thailand). One of our evening's was spent watching the most entertaining Phuket Fantasea Show. I must say it is worth a watch because you don't get to see something like this in India.

Phuket Fantasea is a good theme park with lots of smiling faces around. It’s so much fun especially for kids.  There is also a show that happens, which is the main attraction.
The show is magnificent; the theatre is huge and light and sound effects during the show are outstanding. It is a story about the King.
The performers of the show are glamorously dressed and there are live animals performing. The beautiful sets of the show keep on changing from time to time.
We were lucky enough to get the front seats and closely watch all the performers and animals walk by us. In short it is a glorified version of circus...but very well presented and managed.
There is so much more to see in Thailand, and cover each and every island there....waiting for my next turn.

What To Wear On Weekends

What To Wear On Weekends

Hurray the weekend is approaching and I am confused as usual.....What to wear to work? Yes we work six days a week :(, so its two days Friday and Saturday that I prefer wearing casuals. A break from wearing formals as all the business meetings are scheduled over the busy week.

But when I open my wardrobe I am left with so many??? Sundays are the days when I am so happy to wear everything that I like since there are no dress code obligations.

This is my first attempt to put up a look together for the summer. I have tried to bring in a lot of pastels together and paired up with some bold accessories to make the entire outfit stand out. Never the less I haven’t been able to lay my hands on entire pastels look in my wardrobe yet... But these cool colours are definite thumbs up for this season.

Let’s see what I pair up on this weekend...it will also depend on the activities that I have got to do on that day.

Till then happy reading and happy blogging.

Sunday Luncheon...

Going out on a Sunday afternoon after a busy week at work calls for wearing something very casual.

I had picked up this tunic from Bangkok and wore it for the first time. It’s also getting pretty heated up in the afternoons here. Mixed and matched it with a grey gunjee rather than white to break the monotony...

Had a great time with friends over lunch and was really feeling sleepy :)

Some more interesting things lined up for me in the coming month which will be worth sharing, until then some product reviews coming up...

The First Step and The First Sun

A big hiiii to all of you... Feeling ecstatic about writing our first post and getting started on stylepile.com.

We both sisters were planning to get started with blogging and share our experiences with styling, beauty, products, things we do and all of it. Thought of beginning with putting up a few pictures of Priyanka on stylepile.com and writing our first post on this lovely Sunday morning. Today was a early rising day, have to catch up with friends for lunch. I volunteered to cook something for them. Planning to cook grilled fish and chicken curry. Need to get working on it soon.

Have to dress up for the lunch too, will have to be very casual and comfortable. It’s also started getting very hot in Mumbai now. Few days back the winter didn't want to leave us and now the summer is just unbearable. My sensitive skin has already started reacting with some sun allergies on my forearms, just because I forgot to wear my sunscreen. All this happens while we are out during weekends; weekdays are spent at work/college/home. So here are a few summer essentials that one needs to follow before going out into the sun:

·         Wear a good sunscreen; don't even buy the OTC sunscreens available consult a skin specialist to get the one which really works on the skin. I have been recommended to use Shadowz SPF 30 (Dr.Reddy's) by my dermatologist.
·         Apply the sunscreen at least 20-30 min's before leaving your home. Reapply it every three hours during the day.
·         Carry a umbrella/ scarf/ jacket to protect yourself if you are going out in peak noon hours.
·         Always carry a good pair of sunglasses.
·         Drink lots of water and keep yourself hydrated.
I am sure by taking these precautions we can keep our skin looking great and healthy even during summers.

Have a great week ahead
